SMS Policy
SMS Notifications - Neural Payments
Effective Date: 11/14/2025
How SMS Notifications Work
Neural Payments provides SMS notification services to financial institutions. When someone wants to send you a payment through one of our partner banks or credit unions, you may receive text messages to facilitate the transaction.
Important: SMS is optional. You can always receive and claim payments via email or through your financial institution's web portal or mobile app.
Payment Delivery Options
Payment senders can choose to notify you via:
- Email - Payment link sent to your email address
- SMS/Text Message - Payment link sent to your mobile phone
- In-App Notification - Alert within your financial institution's mobile app
You do not need to use SMS to receive payments. SMS is simply a convenient notification option.
First-Time SMS Payment Notification
When you receive your first payment notification via SMS, you will receive a one-time transactional message that includes:
- Information about who sent you the payment and the amount
- A secure link to claim your payment
- An invitation to opt in to future SMS/text message notifications
Example message:
"John Doe sent you $50.00 via Sample Bank: 'October Rent'. Claim: https://pay.samplebank.com/abc123
To receive future payment notifications by SMS, reply YES. By replying YES, you agree to receive SMS/text messages from Neural Payments. Msg&data rates apply. Reply STOP to opt out."
You can claim this payment regardless of whether you opt in to future SMS notifications. The payment link works whether or not you reply YES.
Opting In to SMS Notifications
To receive future payment notifications via SMS/text message, you must explicitly consent by replying YES to the invitation in your first payment message.
By replying YES, you agree to:
- Receive SMS/text messages from Neural Payments on behalf of your financial institutions
- Receive payment notifications when someone sends you money
- Receive payment status updates (success/failure confirmations)
Message Frequency: You will only receive SMS messages when someone sends you a payment. Message frequency depends on how often you receive payments through our partner financial institutions.
Message & Data Rates: Standard text message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier plan.
What Messages Will I Receive After Opting In?
Once you've opted in, you'll receive SMS notifications such as:
Payment notifications:
"John Doe is sending you $50.00 from Sample Bank: 'October Rent'. Claim: https://pay.samplebank.com/abc123
Reply STOP to unsubscribe."
Payment success confirmations:
"Success! John Doe sent you $50.00 from Sample Bank: 'October Rent'. Funds sent to debit card ending in 4455."
Payment failure alerts:

If You Don't Opt In

- Future payment senders will be notified that you haven't opted in to SMS

- You will not receive any additional SMS messages from us

You can stop receiving SMS notifications at any time by:
-
Replying STOP to any message
-
Contacting the financial institution directly
